Overview
Founded in 1890, Kaikatei is a nationally designated tangible cultural property and a Japanese restaurant designed by Kengo Kuma, also known for the New National Stadium. It was the venue for the welcome dinner for the head representatives at the APEC summit in Fukui in 2010. It has received the highest score in the prefecture since its launch in the French gourmet guide "Gault & Millau." In addition to the prefecture's main local sake, it also has a wide selection of champagne and wine, and the pairings by sommeliers are also popular.
