Overview
Updown is a beautiful 17th-century farmhouse just outside Deal, Kent. Along with Gardener's Cottage, the house has been lovingly updated to provide five luxuriously appointed rooms, with the barn under refurbishment to become a restaurant. Menus are small, hyper-seasonal, and use the best of local and European produce, changing on a regular basis to reflect what's best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers, and seasonal cocktails.
