Vegan Ramen UZU

Kyoto • Japan

Overview

Vegan Ramen UZU is a new experiential space that combines food and art. Enjoy a relaxing flow of time in which the boundaries between the self and art and between the self and others are blurred. Vegan Ramen UZU Kyoto opened in 2020 south of the Imperial Palace in Kyoto. TeamLab's artwork "Inverted Immoral" is displayed on the wall, and black polished tables are arranged around the artwork, allowing guests to eat vegan food while being surrounded by the artwork reflected not only on the wall but also on the table. The soup for all ramen is made from Rausu kelp, domestic shiitake mushrooms, and vegetables and is slowly steeped in water for 12 hours. The noodles are made from wheat flour produced in Hokkaido and pesticide-free whole wheat flour produced in Aya Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.
